Сжатие; тэсудзи, после которого форма становится тяжелой

Shibori is a tesuji in which a player gains advantage by forcing the opponent into a sequence of inefficient moves. Often translated as “squeeze,” the term literally means “wringing” or “twisting”. The sequence itself forces the opponent to self-constrict while you build strength or territory.

The technique typically involves a series of sacrifices, ataris, and forcing moves that eliminate the opponent’s liberties and reduce their groups to poor shape. Shibori can lead to capturing a group outright or turning a fight decisively in one’s favor.
