Nozoki

Japanese: Nozoki ノゾキKorean: Deuryeodabogi 들여다보기Chinese: Qù 觑

Importance: ★★☆

Peep; peeping move.

Nozoki is a move, where a player threatens to cut or push through the opponent’s formation. This tactic forces the opponent to respond, often leading to a defensive move that can be advantageous for the player initiating the nozoki.

A peeping move serves as a probe, testing the opponent’s responses and revealing information about their intentions and weaknesses. By threatening a cut or invasion, a nozoki compels the opponent to defend, allowing the initiator to dictate the flow of the game.

Effective use of nozoki requires precise timing, as it can create opportunities for further attacks or solidify one’s own position when used appropriately.
