This course is the perfect starting point for beginners who have just learned the rules of Go and are looking to understand the basics of strategy and tactics on a 13×13 board. It’s an essential foundation that will also prepare you for playing on the more complex 19×19 board.
Once you’re comfortable with the material in this course, we recommend progressing to the more advanced Deeper into the game of Go on 19×19, which is the final course of our elementary trilogy designed to guide you from not knowing the rules to mastering the fundamentals and reaching a solid 12-10 kyu level.

Excellent introduction to 13x13, with all the Go Magic standards of quality and presentation. 100% recommended!
This is my second time, first with the revised (paid) course. I enjoyed it, learned from it, and know that seki and ko-threats are areas I need to work on. I especially benefited from the integrated puzzles that match the videos well. I will probably do it again in 6 mo., just because it is fun. But now... on to 19x19 as my work and time allow.

Great introduction. It all seems very complex, but learning it step by step like this is a very good way to approach it.
Highly informative, and clearly explained. Especially the information regarding Ko, and Ko Threats.
I really appreciated the thoughtful progression of the course. Each section serves up a digestible set of concepts with compelling examples. The interactive quizzes are fun, but require a solid understanding of the concepts presented, so you have to pay attention. I learned a lot and I’m looking forward to learning more.

Ce cours est parfait ! En tant que débutant, il m'a permis d'améliorer ma vision et m'a appris beaucoup de principe de façon claire. Il y a beaucoup d'information, mais on peut refaire le cours ou faire une pause et le reprendre au moment où on avait arrêté. Il manque juste une traduction française, mais ce n'est pas insurmontable.
Every time I had a question, the answer came up in the next lesson. A very good course. However, especially with the basic techniques and follow-up techniques, I had expected more exercises and more in-depth videos, since this was the first time I really started to struggle and had to rewatch the videos several times. Nevertheless, I learned an incredible amount about this amazing game! Thanks!

A great follow-up to the intro on 9x9. There were a couple of in-video quizzes that felt like trick questions I'd prefer to have been clearer, but overall I feel like it really strengthened my understanding.
