¡Prepárate para un yose de alta intensidad!
abril 2024
(20)

This course helped me a lot (specially the ko part) beacuse i was losing games in the endgame, now i am winning with yose!

The course was clearly well-made, but honestly, it wasn’t what I expected. I thought I’d learn endgame techniques, but much of it focused on counting points, and I found the counting method inaccurate. I researched the topic and found discussions about different moves, counting methods, reserve sente, and even double sente, which another course says is valid. I have more feedback, but max 400 cant

A superb course. I had to watch it twice to really get full value of it. Stanislaw explains everything clearly, and the examples are mostly well adapted. The only drawback comes from some problems. Especially the ones related to the substraction method. where used in the video are all very understandable but also much simpler than the one in the problems which have continuations for both colors.

This course was challenging for me. The maths in it were difficult for me to wrap my brain around. I appreciated Stanislaw’s use of some real game examples, which were easier for me to understand than the more puzzle-like board positions used to illustrate the points. Great teachings about endgame though.

fun course and good technique suggestions and exercises. four stars because this course only covers counting move values locally, and doesn't cover some global endgame topics like the value of a reverse sente or ko in a whole board context (e.g. https://senseis.xmp.net/?WhenToPlayAReverseSente), or mutual damage

interesting but a bit difficult on the end

Very greatfulfor the content. I have a terribly difficult time with these... Please consider making a continuation only for problem solving. It would help a lot!

It all seems to be good stuff, but surely the simplest way to count the value of the 1st line hane in the first lecture of the course proper is (for a gote move) 2 × area-swing - 2 . Two points switch from Black’s area to White’s, so the area swing is 2, so the value is 2×2-2 = 2. This limits the visualisation needed to the smallest possible region.

So usefull to have such a comprehensive and structured presentation on the topic. I will have to come back on it several time to really understand the more tricky or complex situations

Learning to count and evaluating the board is a vital part of a Go player's arsenal but it is often ignored for the flashier opening formations and middle game tesujis. This course goes into the nitty gritty, teaching exactly how to compute move value. Even I couldn't grasp everything my first time watching, especially the last couple of lessons. I will need to watch this series multiple times.

Great course. The content is really important and explains a lot from the easier endgame course (I think some of the concepts should have been introduced there). My only complaint is that too much time is spent explaining the easy concepts and not enough on the harder ones. There are several conclusions you need to come to yourself, but the puzzles do provide enough material to do so (if dug into)

Please edit it to go over all the puzzles

I was doing great until the subtraction method was introduced….very helpful course but wish there were even more videos walking through the puzzles explaining how to count it. That was the most helpful part.

Not ready yet for that 🙂 But it seems to be a great course

Very well done, learn a lot. Need to watch again. I gave only 4 because I think it lacks of explanations sometimes.

Invaluable techniques. Quite difficult to understand though. I will need to watch again. Many thanks !!

You had better be a VERY good counter, once it gets to Ko and Continuations, it'll get super confusing. But all in all, very good course for advanced endgame. Guess im not as strong...
