Puede que hayas oído que para mejorar en el Go hay que resolver problemas. Repetición, trabajo duro, memorización… todo suena un poco intimidante. Incluso puede hacerte dudar: ¿es el Go un juego realmente tan creativo si depende de ejercicios tediosos y de reglas rígidas de «vida y muerte»?
Tranquilo — ¡no es tan aburrido como parece!
- Te ahorra tiempo y energía. Al aprender lo básico de vida y muerte, no tendrás que reinventar la rueda en plena partida. Reconocerás al instante las formas estándar y sabrás exactamente cómo tratarlas, sin dudar.
- Afina tu lectura. Resolver problemas es como un entrenamiento para el cerebro: te ayuda a visualizar secuencias, anticipar las respuestas de tu rival y leer el tablero varias jugadas por delante.
- ¡Y encima es divertido! Los tsumego (problemas de vida y muerte) pueden ser una actividad entretenida, casi un minijuego, si los enfocas de la manera correcta.
En este curso veremos lo más básico del tsumego, exploraremos las formas estándar más comunes y hablaremos de cómo cambiar tu mentalidad para disfrutar de verdad del proceso. ¡Espero que al final de nuestro camino juntos ames estos problemas tanto como yo!
Nivel recomendado: 20–13k para quienes se frustran por sus muchos errores graves.

The course gives a good general introduction and encouragement to continue to 'solve puzzles', which I think is the perfect approach.One star less for publishing the course half-finished, which is didactically unhelpful (once started, it must be possible to do the whole thing) and frustrating. As a whole, it's superb.

Thanks for another great course. Earlier this year, I started putting more effort into L&D study. The course introduces L&D fundamentals with excellent examples and puzzles to solve. When I completed the final quizzes, I could tell I've already learned some new ideas. Very much looking forward to Stanislaw's course. Thanks again Vadim.

Great course, lots of useful info. I wish it was even longer.The course made reflect that GoMagic should have a 'trial mode' in which I can try out, e.g. life and death sequences on my own (like on a real board) without the computer instantly telling me if I got it right or got it wrong. For those us who struggle a bit with visualization, this would be a helpful crutch.
This is an awesome course for beginner and not so beginner go players who don't like tsumego/puzzles so much or think they are bored. This course will change that dumb idea. That's not my case, but I enjoyed so much, anyway. I'm waiting for the second life & death course.
The course was enjoyable and had a lot of genuinely useful information. As constructive feedback, I would have liked more guidance on how to recognize life-and-death situations without calculating everything. It would be helpful to learn clear patterns or principles that let us identify the key point just by looking at the position, since it’s not always obvious, especially for beginners.
This is a great course that in my opinion should have taken priority over the more advanced course that this team has produced. I appreciate the fact that they also want to cater for more advanced players, but this course would have helped me so much six months ago. I pretty much had to figure this out on my own in the first steps of my Go journey.
This review is based on the first half of the course available so far. This course is a nice balance of analytical and intuitive reading. By "intuitive" I don't mean guessing but instead an instinct for recognizing and gravitating to important shapes. I look forward to future installments!
