Hane is the most common attacking move in Go, and playing it more often is one of the fastest ways to get stronger. So why do so many beginners hold back? Usually, it’s fear of the cut (not the cat, although one does make a cameo). This course teaches you to hane with confidence: why it usually beats a simple extension (and when it doesn’t), how to respond when the cut actually comes, and when to follow up with a double hane.
Suitable for: 20โ13 kyu, who are ready to add some attacking power into their games

Log in to write a reviewWe publish all reviews; the coins for a review never depend on its rating. How reviews work
- To write a review, a learner must be enrolled in the course and have completed at least one lesson or topic. Earlier reviews needed enrolment only.
- We publish every review at once, whatever its rating, and remove only spam, insults and personal data.
- One review per course; its author can edit or delete it at any time.
- A learner gets 20 coins (the site's points) once per course, for a review with at least 30 characters of text, whatever the rating.
- The average is the plain mean of all ratings. Reviews in your language come first, then those other learners marked helpful (marks on newer reviews count for more), then those with text, newest first.
- Next to newer reviews we show the author's estimated rank on the site and how much of the course they had completed when they last wrote or edited the review.
- The course's teachers and our team may reply to a review publicly.
- To report a review, write to [email protected].
