Nel Go il triangolo vuoto è una forma in cui tre pietre disegnano un triangolo lasciando libero un punto. In genere è considerata inefficiente, perché riduce le libertà e indebolisce la forma complessiva del gruppo. Meglio evitarla: diventa un facile bersaglio d’attacco.

Ci sono però situazioni in cui il triangolo vuoto è la mossa migliore a disposizione. Può servire ad assicurare una connessione, a rovinare i piani dell’avversario o a completare una sequenza tattica più ampia.
