We have completed a huge task of searching and choosing the absolute best (worst?) mistakes that secretly plague most kyu players’ games. Tactical mistakes, strategic mistakes, psychological mistakes — this course will help you get rid of possibly the last remaining shackles that slow you down on your way to 1 dan.
This is a direct sequel to the course Typical Mistakes That Wouldn’t Let Us Get Better.
Suitable for: 10–1 kyu
A huge thanks to: Alexander Dinerstein for helping with examples for the course and Marina Ismail-Akhunova for designing the Nutcracker.

Reviews
We publish all reviews; the coins for a review never depend on its rating. How reviews work
- To write a review, a learner must be enrolled in the course and have completed at least one lesson or topic. Earlier reviews needed enrolment only.
- We publish every review at once, whatever its rating, and remove only spam, insults and personal data.
- One review per course; its author can edit or delete it at any time.
- A learner gets 20 coins (the site's points) once per course, for a review with at least 30 characters of text, whatever the rating.
- The average is the plain mean of all ratings. Reviews in your language come first, then those other learners marked helpful (marks on newer reviews count for more), then those with text, newest first.
- Next to newer reviews we show the author's estimated rank on the site and how much of the course they had completed when they last wrote or edited the review.
- The course's teachers and our team may reply to a review publicly.
- To report a review, write to [email protected].
Vadim is a wonderful teacher as usual, but I'm surprised that this course is marked as being suitable for 10kyu and higher. I am 15kyu on OGS and found this lesson extremely helpful and pertinent to my play, and wish I'd watched it sooner instead of being scared off by the high level floor.
HelpfulThe interactions with Nutcracker are so funny! Very helpful lesson, it covers a few mistakes I didn't realize I was making.
HelpfulExcellent follow up to the first course. Thank you!
HelpfulA very good approach to most of the mistakes we do when we start playing go and even when we start growing and improving, it shows how much you need to pay attention to some basics mistakes we make while playing.
I always like when he shows pro games, some humor and even stories.HelpfulThis is a great course! Definitely covered most of my mistakes, and I improved quite a bit from before. I also love the humor with the Nutcracker!
HelpfulA very good course again! Thanks!
HelpfulThere were many common mistakes that kept coming up, making this course very valuable and worth the time. As constructive feedback, I think it would be even better with more detailed explanations, such as how to play against certain opponents, what actions are allowed or not, and which AI prompts work best. That part is especially important.
HelpfulAwesome course. Great presentation by Vadim and his little nutcracker.
HelpfulPractical and to the point!
HelpfulGreat course. The nutcracker is the inside voice we all have urging us to make mistakes, and it’s very useful to see how Vadim responds to it.
