In this course you will learn the rules of Go in all of their simplicity and splendor.
The rules of Go could in fact be presented in a single video lesson. This course however has a different purpose. It is meant to make sure you can play your first games even without a teacher standing over your shoulder. Not only will you learn Go rules but you will also acquire some basic Go skills. All of this will help you have more fun playing Go and maybe even get your first wins.
After learning the rules of Go, we recommend trying to play a few games (on a 9×9 board) and then proceed to the next course — The Fundamentals of Go on 13×13. Also take a look at this beginner’s guide.

Made the game digestible. Would recommend
Well was a great free course, I guess. Found the KO lesson the most helpful one as I didn't understand it very well when I learnt the rules (just a week ago though). The course did make the concepts very simple to understand.Recommended it to a friend as well!
Very nicely and neatly presented, I recommended it to some friends and it was well recieved too. Good start!
This is amazing course for building fundamentals.
Very good course as always here! And very well structured to onboard new players to the game. Thank you Vadim and Go Magic Team ❤️
This course really helped me understand and fall in love with the game of Go. I had only had a vague interest before but this really sparked me to learn more!
I was given a cheap go set in the early 1960s and never really understood how to play. This course explains the basics and has excellent graphics. I'm interested in learning more. Thank you!
Clear explainations ! I am 61 and beghinner. Thanks a lot !
Good introduction.
Finally easy and understandable option for learning this fascinating game!
It's teaching the fundamentals very well. I think that the decision to not teach seki yet makes a lot of sense, too, even if it makes it feel slightly incomplete ^^
Thanks, courses are easy to understand and quite intuitive. I would like to learn modern playing style of GO here in a structured way.
It's free. Easy to follow. Fun .No regrets.
It's really helpful for beginners even who knows nothing about Go. It's a perfect place to start the journey.
