In this course you will learn the rules of Go in all of their simplicity and splendor.
The rules of Go could in fact be presented in a single video lesson. This course however has a different purpose. It is meant to make sure you can play your first games even without a teacher standing over your shoulder. Not only will you learn Go rules but you will also acquire some basic Go skills. All of this will help you have more fun playing Go and maybe even get your first wins.
After learning the rules of Go, we recommend trying to play a few games (on a 9×9 board) and then proceed to the next course — The Fundamentals of Go on 13×13. Also take a look at this beginner’s guide.

I have been familiar with Go for many years…. I belong to the American Go Association, attended a Go Club, played regularly, read many books… and always felt overwhelmed and lost!
