Madalin Nanau has always been drawn to the less familiar corners of culture and thought. His curiosity gravitates toward the unknown, making each discovery a personal exploration. Early on, he was captivated by Chinese and Japanese cultures—their intricate writing systems sparking a deep fascination.

Go entered his life in much the same way. While reading a science and technology magazine, he discovered the game and was instantly intrigued. With no board available, he played on math notebooks, taught the game to peers, and even tried to start a club.
